Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon

One of California's oldest wineries, Far Niente was founded in 1885 and flourished until Prohibition. Abandoned for over 60 years, it has now been transformed into a state-of-the-art winemaking facility and placed on the National register of Historic Places. The name, romantically translated to "without a care," was originally carved in stone on the front of the building where it remains today. We felt an obligation to preserve the name Far Niente and hopefully, to recapture a bygone era when life was indeed "without a care." Our goals at Far Niente are to focus our winemaking efforts on estate bottled Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, to make our wine without compromise, and to maintain the traditions of a world class wine estate.
