Manufacturer's Notes: The sweet spot. Inspired by the extravagant and varied selections of traditional sweetshops, Dr Bill Lumsden, our Director of Whisky Creation and Distilling, set to work using ex-wine casks that he had identified and set aside as he knew they would impart an incredible sweetness of to his whisky. His aim was to replicate something of those delicious sweetshop flavours in a single malt whisky. These former red wine casks were flame toasted and then filled with Glenmorangie which had been aged in former bourbon oak casks. The result is a whisky which is more deliciously candied than Dr Bill could imagined. The spirit is strikingly different with a truly remarkable flavour profile which so closely replicates Dr Bill's inspiration. Toasted to perfection. Seeking the ideal wine casks for this adventure, Dr Bill turned to Portugal where traditional grape varieties recognized for their dark tarry fruits. Shipped to Scotland, we toasted these casks with live flame to enhance the sweeter notes of Glenmorangie, the effect of which is the exquisite palette of sensations one experiences tasting Glenmorangie Milsean. This is our most exuberant Private Edition whisky yet, sumptuous and moreish. It is brimming with the sweetness and piquancy of the toasted casks. It's flavours are rich, delicious and bursting to get out, the magnificent product of this innovative wood finish. Glenmorangie Milsean. Milsean is copper beech in colour. its bouquet is sweet and spicy with hints of sugar cane, ripe fruits, fudge, candy sweetness and buttery coconut. Phenomenally and unforgettably, the taste displays all of that abundant sweetshop extravagance. It blazes with complex sugar-coated flavours, Tart plummy fruit, cherries, angelica and candied orange peel, the sweet-things of its Gaelic name. Other fruits - peaches, nectarines, plums and melons - are present too, the backbone of all Glenmorangie expressions. A whiskey of depth, its lingering finish features ginger, brown sugar and cake mix. Milsean builds on Glenmorangie's unequaled experience in cask selection and in its luscious fullness it displays a new dimension in what is possible with extra-maturation. Private Edition.
