Nearly a decade ago, Fetzer Vineyards embarked on a mission to farm grapes without the use of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or synthetic fertilizers in order to develop more flavor and complexity in our grapes to provide a safer environment for our workers. The name Bonterra is loosely derived from "good earth," which we feel captures the spirit of this wine and the land on which it is grown. The wine is an intriguing blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (79%), Syrah (8%), Petite Sirah (7%), and other red varietals (6%). Bonterra Cabernet Sauvignon offers distinctive cherry, black pepper and spice flavors that complement well-seasoned beef, pork and lamb dishes as well as tomato-based pastas.
