Product Description

Manufacturer's Notes: P2 is the Secound Plenitude of Dom Perignon, the result of 16 years elaboration. The wine's energy is at its peak.
I. The "Plenitudes" of Dom Perignon
Dom Perignon's creation is centered upon its absolute dedication to vintage wines. Each Vintage wine is created from the best grapes grown in one single year - a true challenge for a unique interpretation of the seasons, and for reinvention. The uniqueness of Dom Perignon vintages lies in the way they evolve - not steadily and in a linear way but by successive windows of expression that are called "Plenitudes". Reaching new heights and revealing the spirit of Dom Perignon even more distinctly, it is only at thses times that the wine is worthy of a new release. From one Plenitude to the next, the power of creation of the "Chef de Cave" is inscribed into the memory of the wine.
II.P2
P2 is the secound Plenitude of Dom Perignon the result of 16 years of elaboration. Both the complementary and contrasting elements that comprise the "assemblage" resonate with each other for enhanced intensity, vibrancy and precision. The energy of the wine is at its peak.
III. Tasting Notes P2 1998
1998 Harvest:
The wine-growing season was marked by extremes, with few grapes, burnt by the sun, in a spectacularly hot August and especially gray, rainy weather during the first two weeks of September. Postponing the harvest allowed us to take advantage of the miraculous spell of good weather that followed. That decision defined the creation of the vintage. When the harvest began on September 21, the grapes were perfectly ripe and healthy.
Nose:
After a short breathing period, the wine has an intense, full and radiant bouquet, with notes of honeysuckle, orange colored fruits, toasted almonds and hints of iodine sensations.
Mouth:
The creamy chewiness characterizing the vintage is channeled in a direction that is edgy yet embracing, with a wave of aromatic persistence. The finish - smoky, biting and full of energy - offers balances and harmony.
