Manufacturer's Notes: The Balvenie DoubleWood Single Malt Scotch whisky gains its distinctive character from maturation in two wood types. Starting its journey in whisky oak, it is then moved into sherry oak, each stage lending different qualities to the resulting single malt.  Traditional whisky casks soften for delicacy of character. Sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour.

2018 marks the 25th Anniversary of The Balvenie DoubleWood, aged 12 years. The milestone is a testament to the hard work of our distillery craftsmen, who continue to ensure the quality of The Balvenie.

David C Stewart pioneered 'cask finishing' -- the ground breaking technique that had a profound impact on whisky-making in Scotland and around the world. This contribution and many more over his 55 years dedicated to Scotch Whisky creation earned him an MBE in 2016.
