Puerto Angel Anejo rum is handcrafted from sugarcane juice in the Mexican state of Michoacan, in the city of Uruapan. Our sugarcane is cultivated in the mountainous region of the Michoacan Highlands, at a soaring elevation of 5,300 feet. Unique terroir of this remote environmentally pristine area, including its mineral-rich, volcanic red soils and soft spring waters nourishing the plantation, results in richly flavored sugarcane of remarkable quality and high natural sweetness. Puerto Angel Anejo rum is created from the cold pressed and naturally-fermented juice of sugarcane. It is double distilled in traditional alembic copper stills and aged in oak casks. Crafted according to the traditional artisanal techniques developed in the Michoacan area in the 1600's, Puerto Angel Anejo is defined by the complexity and sweetness of its fresh floral aroma, buttery smooth, luxurious mouthfeel and detectable flavors of vanilla, toasted almonds, plum, caramelized banana and baked apple.
