Manufacturer's Notes: Appleton Estate 15 Year Old Black River Casks is a tribute to the Black River that is integral to Jamaica's rum history and the source of the limestone-filtered water used to craft our rums. 

The rums that make up Black River Casks are hand-selected and crafted with Jamaican limestone-filtered water, with no added flavours, and have all been aged for a minimum of 15 years in the tropical climate of Jamaica. This rich full bodied rum reveals aromas of toasted almond and delicate hazelnut followed by notes of intense orange peel, rich vanilla and subtle hints of medium roasted coffee and molasses.

Appleton Estate is made in the Nassau Valley, a lush and fertile terrain located in the heart of Jamaica. We are one of the few rums in the world to claim terroir -- a set of unique weather, soil and geographic demarcations that impart a character to each of our rums.

We cultivate the natural ingredients that go into making each barrel of our rum -- from the sugarcane that we grow ourselves, to the limestone spring that supplies our water, as well as our naturally cultured non-GMO yeast. Our rums are aged in 40-gallon Number One Select American Oak barrels, which impart more vanilla flavour and make our rum smoother and less woody.
