Every cask of exceptional Single Malt Whiskey is maturing at The Macallan Estate has its own personality, with little differences which makes them unique. 

Usually these differences are subtle. Other times the whiskey can showcase characteristics which make them distinct from the expected. 

From time to time our whiskey makers come across casks maturing in our warehouses which stand out from the others in a very particular way. 

These Rare Casks of The Macallan have a 100% natural deep ruby mahogany color, an intense sweet raisin flavor, and a rich velvety mouthfeel.
