Our reputation for the extraordinary is characterised by the exceptional oak casks for which the Macallan us renowned. Sourced, crafted, toasted and seasoned uber the watchful eye of the Master of wood, the hand picked casks are delivered to the demanding specifications of the Whisky Mastery Team. Once filled, the maturing spirit remains undisturbed in the same cask for 18 years. It is the oak that makes the greatest contribution to the quality, natural colours and distinctive aromas and flavours at the heart of this single malt whiskey.

The perfect partnership of Oloroso sherry seasoned American and European oak casks create the distinctive, warm character of this harmonious single malt. The delicate  and indulgent flavours of American oak including vanilla, orange and toffee support the Macallan's more traditional characteristics of rich fruits and wood spice which takes centre stage. 

Colur: Ambery honey
Aroma: Dried fruits, ginger and toffee with rich orange and hints of clove with nutmeg
Palate: Rich raisin and sultana with notes of caramel, vanilla and ginger balanced by wood spice and zesty citrus
Finish: Warm oak spice with ginger turning to sweet orange
