Manufacturer's Notes: A series of surprusing whiskies revealing new dimensions of Laphroaig.

Laphroaig Elements is a series of experiments that reveal unexpected dimensions in our whisky. Our distillery team have been given free rein to create; amplifying and rearranging the elements that make Laphroaig unique. The results allow different, subtle notes to emerge as part of our quest to make the very best whisky.

Elements 1.0 is the first in the series, pushing the boundaries of mashing and fermentation. Using an 8.5 and 11-tonne mash tun in a mod to both old and new styles, it's created with a combination of cloudy and semi-cloudy wort, a technique that brings out greater tropical fruit notes while preserving that phenolic hit of maritime peat that only comes from Islay.

The result is a non-chill filtered, 100% Islay malt, revealing sweeter pineapple & liquorice notes behind Laphroaig's peaty, smoky style.

As the first in our experimental Elements series, 1.0 demonstrates how the first elements in our whisky-making process can be finely adjusted to redefine your expectations.
